Whale & Dolphin Encounter
The Whale watching and Dolphin Encounter Combo Tour, famously known as the “Bahia Aventuras Combo Tour” is the best option to see the most of the Marino Ballena National Park. The tour departs from Punta Uvita Beach and visits the famous Punta Uvita Whale Tale, Isla Ballena, Tres Hermanas Islets and Ventana sea caves. During the tour we search for humpback and pilot whales as well as spinner, bottle nose, and spotted dolphins, which are residents to the Uvita coast.  When granted the opportunity, you might see and hear the humpback whales and observe the acrobatic displays of the dolphins.  We also visit the coral and rock reefs to snorkel and observe the wonderful marine life at Punta Uvita, Isla Ballena and Tres Hermanas.  During the visits to Isla Ballena and Tres Hermanas observe the diversity of pelagic birds. Afterwards, we head for the amazing natural sea caves of Ventanas beach, and if conditions permit our experienced captain will navigate the boat through the natural water passage to give you a spectacular interior view!  Throughout the tour enjoy the scenic beauty of the Uvita coastline and the mountains of Costa Ballena.

Snorkeling Tour Ballena National Park
Snorkel the ocean floor and observe parrot fish, sea turtles, coral reef and more during your Costa Rica Snorkeling Tour to the Marino Ballena National Park, Punta Uvita, Isla Ballena and Tres Hermanas!

Marino Ballena National Park is second to Cano Island with great coral reef and fish diversity along the South Pacific Coast of Costa Rica.  Join us on this half day Snorkeling Tour, as we depart from Punta Uvita and visit the best snorkeling treasures of the Marino Ballena National Park: reefs of Ballena Island, Tres Hermanas Islets and the Punta Uvita Whale tale.  Discover underwater treasures such as, parrotfish, butterfly fish, blue surgeonfish, and a great number of starfish at a depth that ranges from 1 to 3 meters.  Observe the land formations of Ballena Island and Tres Hermanas Islets and their local inhabitants, the brown booby and green iguana.  Visitors looking for a more comprehensive snorkel tour that includes virgin blue waters and Costa Rica’s largest concentration of coral-building organisms can join us on the Cano Island tour, a full day snorkel and island adventure.  During both tours you might observe whales, dolphins, turtles, marine birds Snorkel Tour and fantastic views of the southern pacific Osa coastline.  The Marino Ballena Snorkel tour and Cano Island tour fill up quickly between the months of December and July as our coastal waters become crystal clear opportunities to observe life’s mysteries down below the ocean surface.

Snorkeling Caño Island Day Tour
Explore gorgeous coral reefs and virgin blue waters at Cano Island Full Day Boat Tour. With turquoise blue waters and colorful coral reefs, Cano Island, located near the Osa Peninsula is one of the best Costa Rican snorkeling and scuba diving destinations. Join this magical boat tour and explore with detail the mysteries of the underwater world and Cano Island archeological wonders. (The island is a biological reserve, snorkel and scuba diving numbers are regulated, and reservations fill up quickly.)

Caño Island is an amazing marine biological reserve with virgin blue waters making it the perfect tropical paradise for snorkelers and divers. It is home to a spectacular variety of stunning marine flora and fauna and is famous for having Costa Rica’s largest concentration of coral-building organisms along the Pacific Ocean. Visitors have rated Cano Island as having the best snorkeling and diving in Costa Rica! With fantastic underwater visibility, you have opportunity to observe and swim alongside sea turtles, dolphins, stingrays, manta rays, moray eels, barracudas, tuna, snapper, parrot fish, puffers and more. This forever-changing panorama is a powerful experience for those who venture below the surface to investigate the variety of marine life found near the coral reefs. Marine life is also abundant in the general outliers of the island and you can see white tipped reef sharks, silky sharks, bull sharks and occasionally whale sharks and humpback whales.

This tour combines two magnificent jewels of Costa Rica: Caño Island Biological Reserve and violines island Please be at the Operator office at  7:00am. The tour departs from Punta Uvita at 7:30 AM and arrives at Caño Island approximately 1 ½ hours later. It is a magical trip where you can observe whales, experience dolphin encounters, and observe other marine animals such as sea turtles and marine birds. Arriving at the island you will be able to appreciate the healthiest coral reefs on this Costa Rica snorkeling adventure and observe a great variety of marine species, many of which are in danger of extinction. After this, you will head by boat to VIOLINES ISLAND (30 minutes) arriving to the north side of this beautiful small Island with lush vegetation. Upon arrival the guides will prepare a picnic lunch. Then the rest of the time will be spent on the beach or swimming on its safe bay and hiking on the beach. During your stay at Violines Island you might see a lot of birds and wonderful tropical vegetation. The boat will head back to Uvita beach at 2.30-3.00 pm surrounding the coast were you will be able to see from the boat the largest Mangrove forest under protection in Central America; Terraba Mangrove Forest. The boat will arrive to Uvita around 4.00 pm.

Full day: Depart 7.30 am Return 4.20 pm *Minimum 6 pax. Snorkeling Caño island (1.5-2 hours), chance to see Whales & Dolphins.

Lunch served on Violines Island and then rest of the evening will be spent on the beach of violines or hiking on the Island. (Time from Caño Island to Violines Island is 35 minutes by boat)

Corcovado Day Tour

The Corcovado National Park Full Day Nature Tour departs from Punta Uvita at 7:00 AM and arrives approximately 1 ½ hours later at San Pedrillo Ranger Station in the Corcovado National Park. Upon arrival you will prepare for two guided nature tour hikes along two different trails and observe beautiful flora and fauna. Each hike takes around 2 hours. During the hikes you will be able to see many mammals such as spider, howler, and white-faced monkeys, sloths, coatis, raccoons, and tapirs as well as a great variety of birds, plants, and trees with over one hundred years of existence and in danger of extinction. After the first hike, we serve a picnic lunch near the San Pedrillo ranger station and then we begin the second trek. During boat transit from Punta Uvita to Corcovado National Park you may observe whales, dolphins, turtles, marine birds and fantastic views of the southern pacific Osa coastline. The boat returns from Corcovado and arrives to Punta Uvita at 4:00 p.m.

Full Day: Depart by boat: 7.30 am Return: 4.20 pm *Minimum 5 pax.

INCLUDES: Two nature hikes at the trails of San Pedrillo station, visit to a waterfall, chance to see dolphins in boat ride. boat transportation, naturalist bilingual guide, lunch & refreshments, park fee. Trails are flat and easy for all ages. We recommended to bring sandals for the boat ride, hiking shoes, extra clothing, bathing suit, binoculars and rain coat on rainy season.
